Wow, y'all do fast work - The NEXT stretch goal and the "Evangalists' Challenge"

As I write this we are just $100 away from our stretch goal of $12500... INCREDIBLE!

Today was the second biggest funding day in the history of the project, second only to the first day which was so huge it really doesn't count!  And what's amazing about today (not to mention this entire week where we've been breaking record after record) is that the excitement is not about the re-release of Creating Origami but it's excitement about the campaign itself and what it means to all of us.

All day long I've been getting message after message with people reflecting how excited they are around the sense of community and enthusiasm there is for the whole effort... and I can only agree, it's amazing!

So, in the spirit of that community I'm going to try something in our last 3 days which as far as I can tell hasn't been done before -- which is to have a special Evangelists Prize for the person who, for the next three days, recruits the most new pledges to our cause.

The rules are as follows:

1) You must be a contributor yourself, and your contribution counts toward your total.
2) People you contact should know you directly, not just be responding to a blog or a post or something... you need to reach out to people.
3) Pledges must be AFTER this message went out and increases of pledges DO count as well.
4) At the end of the campaign, send me the names of the people you recruited.
5) I'll add up the pledge amounts for your "team" and the person with the largest number is the winner.

For the winner there will be two special prizes.  The first is a copy of the original book (which I didn't put up initially because it's already inscribed, but I was looking for good person to give it to) and it will be yours if you want it or I will produce a hard-back copy of the book for you and give you that.

The second part of the prize has to do with the next stretch goal of $15,000 where I will not only release the 7 model e-book version of "Lost Models" but it will contain EVERY model I've ever done that's not been in my published books... that's about 40 models in all (assuming I get the permissions that is).

And, in addition to that I will let the group of all of you contributors CHOOSE a model for me to design, complex/simple doesn't matter, and I'll produce diagrams for it and release it to everyone AND I'll name it after the winner of the Evangelists contest!

So win the contest and you'll get an original, or a hardback book, I'll release ALL the lost models I've done and you'll get a model named after youand have it published.

How's that for a deal?  So who's out there who thinks they can convince some of their friends to join in or their rich uncles to finance having your favorite model diagrammed?

So that's the challenge... just 3 days left to go!

Oh, and here's one more "little" present -- http://creatingorigami.com/diagrams/butterfly.html

(I love this image because there were actually three sets of hands on it.  It takes about 2 hours to fold and as one folder tired they handed it to the next.  And it turned out so beautifully... )

Let's see how big we can make this grow!
